Custom Feedback Forum buttons and links

Per default, users open your Feedback Forum by clicking a tab in the side of your website. However, in some cases, you may want the Feedback Forum window to be opened in a different way - eg. through your main menu, a text link or a button. Fear not, the Feedback Forum API allows you to create exactly the type of integration you want.

Basic examples

Triggering the Feedback Forum to either open or close

Opens Feedback Forum

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open']);">Feedback</a>

Closes Feedback Forum

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Close']);">Feedback</a>

Advanced examples

Per default, the Feedback Forum opens up the "Most popular ideas" view. However, by adding another parameter to the code above, you can open up any page in your forum. See examples below:

Add new idea

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open', 'submit/idea']);">Feedback</a>

Report a bug

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open', 'submit/bug']);">Feedback</a>

Search for something

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open', 'ideas/search/search-term']);">Feedback</a>

Open with newest ideas

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open', 'ideas/recent']);">Feedback</a>

Open with closed ideas

<a href="#" onclick="_urq.push(['Feedback_Open', 'ideas/closed']);">Feedback</a>

Direct link to forum

Your feedback forum can also be opened directly on a static URL, which might be convenient in certain cases. Read more

When a new user goes to add a comment to an existing idea, the previous username and previous user's email address are displayed in the resp input fields. How to show those fields with no info in them ie as blank fields to be filled in... Thanks.i

@Jan - Yes, you can now disable the tab on any device you'd like. You can do this in your Feedback Forum settings - for further instructions, please see this link:

@Ivana - This article went live a little bit too early - we're sorry for the confusion. All accounts should now be migrated to the new Feedback Forum, so now you should be able to locate the link - you'll find instructions here:

As a followup on this. Now that I can trigger the forum using links provided above, I don't really need the feedback button anymore. Can I disable it?
    Thank you.

How do I use feedback forum with a direct link, as described at the end of the article? I don't have that option on my account. Is this some type of beta release?

Hello, you said in this article it's possible to find the static URL to be used to open the feedback forum (e.g from a hyperlink in an email?) in the settings. I do not find it. Would it be possible to tell me where is it exactly?

+ could it be possible to desactivate the "report errors" part? This is not useful for me.
